Growlers
Currently we have Mikkeller Citra Single Hop IPA on growlers.
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller, who created the series to showcase individual hop varieties. This gives you the opportunity to smell and taste the unique characteristics of the Citra hop.
Citra is a dual-purpose hop first released in 2007. It is a cross of Hallertauer Mittelfruh, U.S. Tettnanger, East Kent Golding, Bavarian, Brewers Gold, and other unknown hops. Citra has a citrus aroma and flavour, with a heavy aroma of tropical fruits (guava, mango, tropical fruit). It is typically used as an aroma hop, but due to its high alpha % and low cohumulone content, it makes an excellent bittering hop as well.
Gets some nice reviews on Rate Beer, 97 out of 100.
$32 for a Growler fill.
Next up is the Hop Ale from Young Henry’s in Newton. This is the extra hopped version of their Real Ale. Having enjoyed this at a special sampling at their brewery recently we can say it definitely one that is worth a try.

So Sydney has had cracker beer drinking weather this week and it’s set to continue this weekend – sweet!
Growlers
Currently we have Moa Breakfast beer. A cracker of a lager with rich cherries, very easy drinking. Check out the review for it below:
“The aroma is stunning with hints of dry wheat and cherry’s. The carbonation is lively, which works for a crisp summer beer. The taste has a serious hit of wheat and yeast, washing through with all those bubbles and a touch of cherry.”
Joel Macfarlane – brewnation.co.nz
$28 for a Growler fill
Once this is gone we’ll be moving onto Mikkeller Citra Single Hop IPA probably early in the week
Latest beers
Murray’s No 6 2011 Anniversary Ale – the last available anywhere (limit 1 per person)

Ham on Rye now tapped on the growler – With an aroma of cracked pepper, smokey bacon and earthy hops, the Ham on Rye is a deceiving ale. Golden in colour and smokey throughout, finishing dry and assertive, this Autumnal ale is brewed with German Rauch (smoked) malt and a hint of rye.

We’ve currently got one keg left of Bright Breweries Blowhard Pale Ale on growlers. It is a very aromatic Pale Ale with a distinctive taste.
Description from the brewery:
The Blowhard Pale Ale is an American-style pale ale with a bracing citrus aroma, and crisp Cascade hop character. It is the perfect accompaniment to spicy foods or fish and chips.
