To celebrate our 1000th brew we have created our first ever Imperial Stout. This challenging beer combines much of what we have learned from brewing the previous 999 beers.

One Thousand is a huge beer with rich aromas and flavours, combined with multiple layers of complexity. Visually this beer is a thing of beauty with its oily black appearance and rich creamy mocha head. The complex flavours are a melding of roasted and caramelized malts mixed with the strong influence of aromatic hops.

WHAT OTHER CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING

  1. 4 Star Review Amongst the best Imperial Stouts in Oz

Serious looking black beer with an espresso-like head.
Big rich aroma of roast coffee, dried fruits, dark chocolate & fruity hop.
Thick on the palate; a real mouthful! Oily, viscous, warming.
Smooth body packed full of rich chocolatey, espresso, roast maltiness with dried fruit & liquorice undertones.
    Worthy of an 1000th brew!

  2. 4 Star Review Impressive for an Aussie-made Imperial Stout

I've had many a stout in my time, and this beer easily competes at a global level with any number of other Imperial stouts.
Pours black like someone turned all the lights off, with a beautiful deep tan coffee head. Aroma is a complex mix of coffee and syrup-like maltiness, but balanced with fruity tones that remind you that you're tasting greatness. Slightly boozy, but not in line with the 11.2% you'd expect.
Has all the characteristics of a beer you could drink fresh or cellar to round out the booziness.
Tastes great from a bottle or from a tap. A must have!

  3. 5 Star Review Dangerously drinkable

"For an Imperial Stout, this is dangerously drinkable. Well disguised booze, great balance of chocolate/roast/dark fruit without any overpowering residual sweetness.
It was certainly worth the 1000 brew wait."

  4. 4 Star Review Brilliant(4.5*)

Booze flavours upfront fade quickly to a huge serve of deep rich roasted malts. Long roast linger. Thick creamy. Excellent!
