Bridge Road Chevalier Hef Dunkel
Brewery: Bridge Road Brewers
Style: Hefeweizen Dunkel
Format: 750ml Bottle
Having traced his family roots back to Germany, it was only right that Ben Kraus should create some of its beer styles. This one, from the southern state of Bavaria, has enjoyed a renaissance in its homeland in recent years with young Germans discovering a taste for its full aroma and flavour. With big wafts of clove and banana on the nose paving the way for a rich, roasted choc-banana flavour followed by a lingering roast bitterness it is a fantastic drop.
A short tasting notes video for Bridge Road Brewers Hefeweizen Dunkel Tasting Notes. This beer style hails from perhaps the world's best know beer region, Bavaria. Bridge Road's Brewer, Ben Kraus, traced his roots back to the land of beer and has researched this style in it's homeland Germany. The beer is deep red to brown in colour, with a strong beige head. The nose instantly gives away the style, fruity, and clove like with plenty of fresh banana. On the pallet this cloudy beer is super smooth, with a soft roundness, an interesting blend of roasted malts with banana and clove and hint of bitterness. A dry roasted character lingers on your pallet until your next mouthful. A great beer for all palates making it a great one to share, as a starter or a accompaniment to lighter dishes. http://bridgeroadbrewers.com.au/beers/chevalier-range/hefe-weizen-dunkel
