Doctors Orders Prescription 12 Black IPA
Brewery: Doctors Orders Brewing
Style: Black IPA
Format: 500ml Bottle
Prescription 12 is the 12th commercial offering from Doctor's Orders (and first in bottles). It sees its Black IPA (Mind Warp) in a Belgian guise (Belgian yeast and Belgian Candi Syrups). This gives Prescription 12 additional complexity in aromatics, body and flavour. The malty, biscuit, toasty flavours are backed with hints of dark fruits before the lingering addictive bitterness finishes off the mouth-feel.
WHAT OTHER CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING
Not much aroma wise but does have a lovley toffee like flavor to it with a decent bitterness on the finish
False style claims!
This beer is an above-average example of a porter. But the label claims it is a belgian black IPA - meaning it is supposed to have big hop aromas of the black IPA fermented with a belgian ale yeast - which is unmistakable with its' flavours and aromas. This "Prescription 12" has virtually no hop aroma, and certainly not the big aroma hop varieties, and no belgian ale yeast flavours like banana or blackcurrant whatsoever. If you are after a belgian black IPA - pick another brand.

Well balanced IPA, with just a hint of roast. Pleasant Belgian yeast notes in the background. Lingering subtle bitterness. A sheer pleasure to drink. Time to refill the prescription I think...
Light yeast and roasted malt nose. Sweet yeast takes the edge off roasted malts body flavours. Still has great linger though.
