Holgate Road Trip IPA
Style: India Pale Ale / IPA
Format: 330ml Bottle
The Perfect Holgate family holiday? A US Pacific North-West beer tour, of course. Result? Our 2009 odyssey to hop heaven lives on in this tribute to the spiritual home of craft beer.
A super-charged but dangerously sessionable All-American hop-bomb, this golden hued IPA is loaded up with multiple additions of Chinook, Centennial and Citra hops from the Pacific Northwest of the USA, resulting in an explosion of piney, citrus and grapefruit flavour and aroma.

American IPA with a touch of sweetness
This beer is to me more like an English style of IPA, that is, with a little bit of sweetness in the finale. Percentage of alcohol is reasonable (6.0%) and IBU (international bitterness units) is high enough (65). The colour tend to be more golden than pale, as it is often the case with English Bitter beers. I first tasted this beer at the Union Hotel in Newtown and I loved it!
Really nice golden ipa. I had this on tap at a pub in Sydney, and it was awesome. If you can get a fresh bottle, it's a fantastic ipa, though as with all ipas, they tend to fade a bit after a few months sitting on the shelf.
