Kooinda Milk Porter
Brewery: Kooinda Boutique Brewery
Format: 330ml Bottle
This 'handcrafted, unfiltered” ale is a traditional Porter which is black in colour and boasts a thick, rocky, brown head which laces the glass. The ale is brewed with a combination of dark, roasted and chocolate malts and is hopped with the Northern Brewer hop of the United Kingdom.
This beer has flavours of chocolate and roasted coffee and a delicate milk sweetness. The subtle bitterness cuts through the rich, sweet malt flavours magnificently.
WHAT OTHER CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING
Not bad as far as Porters go but could have been any other Porter.
This wasn't a bad beer but it could have been any other Porter I have ever had, there was no apparent milk/lactose sweetness to it. The one thing I really disliked about it was the head on it, no matter how slowly & carefully I poured it the head very quickly foamed up and spilled down the sides of the glass. It took forever to drink this as I had to keep waiting for the head to subside. It literally took up about 75% of the glass.
Awwwwwesome beer!!!! 5!!!
This thing was an adventure. Was my first Milk Porter and was curious how it would taste. The 3 Malts and English hops blend super well and creature this silky smoothness that was somewhat surprising even though it is in fact called a milk porter I didn't expect the milky smoothness. DO IT!!!!
A phenomenal food wine match!!
An amazing beer.... but not if you are expecting something traditional, this is along way from anything you will ever buy at your local....unless your very lucky. This is a very refined beer with flavours that transition perfectly, providing a most enjoyable experience. I suggest this is an end of the evening beer, think dessert or cheese platter. Buy at least one of these and ignore the first comment...... this is not like a normal porter...better!!
