Stone Stochasticity Project Your Father Smelt of Elderberries
Brewery: Stone Brewing Co.
Style: American Strong Ale
Format: 650ml Bottle
Imagine if you will emerging from the furthest depths of the dark, misty forest of time holding a chalice (perhaps one of catholically divine caliber) filled with an ale style dating back to medieval England. We find ourselves carried by the gait of hooves (which oddly sound like someone is clacking together two empty coconut halves) and happen upon a castle siege. Insults are being hurled from the walls above from…Frenchmen? Time to run away (after one last whack at the mighty stone castle walls with a broadsword) to discuss strategy just beyond the reach of catapulted bovines. Beer brewed with elderberries is freely shared. What strategies come from this? Trojan rabbit! A brilliant ruse they’re sure to…catapult. Word to the wise, Sir Bedivere: Don’t strategize whilst drinking elderberry beer or the constables may show up at the end of your flick.
FIND BEER: http://find.stonebrewing.com/ This is a brew that the Knights of the Round Table would have heartily enjoyed. A re-creation of a Medieval English ale, this will be a strong beer with intense bready malt character accompanied by herbal and earthy hop notes and a mild smokiness. The addition of elderberries will impart a tart, blueberry-like flavor, while flaked oats and English pale, amber and smoked malts approximate the grains used in English brewing hundreds of years ago. It’s a beer inspired by the Middle Ages, but more than fit for modern enjoyment. READ MORE: http://blog.stonebrewing.com/index.php/your-father-smelt-elderberries/
