  Strong, hearty double-Bock - dark, malty and rich

  This quite surprised me - the easy-going straw-coloured Bock is a Lager style of its own, but "DoppelBock" it much more aromatic, dark and malty like a Porter/Stout, with the extra fermentation and 7% alcohol content making it a real kicker. Even though this isn't hopped, there is a hint of hop-like bitterness and aroma to compliment the rumbly roasted malt. It's like a good strong Porter with something extra, one to enjoy with a friend who appreciates subtle deep flavours in strong speciality beers.
