About The Beer
Combining the power of 4 of the world's top beer rating sites and polls (RateBeer, Beer Advocate, Untappd and GABS Hottest 100) we have created Australia's Ultimate Top 50 Beers of 2019 Mixed Pack.
This pack features 12 of beers from the Ultimate Top 50 representing $80 in value if purchased individually and includes*:
1. Modus Former Tenant Red Ale
This beer is bursting with aromas of Passionfruit and Mango due to a heavy hand on the Mosaic and Galaxy dry hops, this ruby red IPA has a complex blend of citrusy hops and savory caramel malt flavour followed by a slightly sweet finish.
This beer was lovingly brewed as a memorial to our Former Tenant's illegal horticultural endeavours. Without their discovery, there would be no brewery in its place and this beer (which does have a whiff of what our, now incarcerated, former tenants had been cultivating) would not exist. This beer may be 7.8%, but it's nowhere near as potent as what they were selling!
2. Balter XPA
It might be pale but there's nothing weak about this bad boy. Tropical and floral aromatics set off a fruity palette that will punch your taste buds in the pleasure zone. Finished with a refreshing bitterness the XPA is tailored for those who enjoy a fully-hopped beer that's still easy to drink.
3. Balter IPA
Drinking this IPA is like frolicking naked through a spring forest, then dive bombing off a mandarin-scented waterfall. We're not even kidding. It's clean hoppy base offers a relentless, yet refined bitterness complemented by pine and citrus aromatics. Here's cheers to a big refresher after a hard-won day.
4. Hop Nation Jedi Juice
The hazy, New England style IPAs are everywhere, but Hop Nation was one of the first in Australia. They tell us that this version will definitely bring the Jedi out in all of us.
5. BentSpoke Crankshaft IPA
Similar to a West Coast IPA. Floral nose with notes of citrus and pine. Medium bodied with a nice punch of hops and a solid malt finish. A great beer for lovers of big full flavoured brews - it cranks!
6. BentSpoke Barley Griffin Pale Ale
Mild cloudy Australian Pale Ale. Soft fruity aromas and light biscuity malt giving a nice light mouth feel. Easy drinking and great on a hot summers day after mowing the lawn.
7. Bridge Road Beechworth Pale Ale
This is a benchmark pale ale, created by Bridge Road Brewers. It is a pale ale dominated by an aromatic hop profile and has been considered by some as the yardstick from which the pale ale's of other micro breweries are judged on - a calibrating pale ale so to speak.
The Beechworth Pale Ale is a based on the classic APA (American Pale Ale) and as a result is crisp and refreshing, providing a mouthful of aromatic hops. Beechworth Pale Ale is bound to satisfy hop heads and make a definite impression on those new to the craft beer scene. This pale ale is dry hopped with both U.S and N.Z hop varieties. Dry hopping is the process of adding hops after fermentation - it imparts more flavours and aroma to the beer but not more bitterness.
8. Stone & Wood Pacific Ale
Inspired by our home on the edge of the Pacific Ocean and brewed using all Australian barley, wheat and Galaxy hops, Pacific Ale is cloudy and golden. It is dry hopped to provide a big fruit aroma and a refreshing finish.
9. Young Henry’s Newtowner
Young Henrys wouldn't be what it is without Newtown. It's our home, community and inspiration. So when the suburb celebrated its sesquicentenary and we were invited to brew a unique beer to celebrate, we jumped at the chance.
The resulting beer was an Aussie Pale Ale called Newtowner. In a bit of a nod to the suburb's past and present influences, we used a blend of English and Australian malts. Then we added three varieties of local hops to make it fun, fruity and even a little bitter - just like Newtown.
10. KAIJU! Krush!
A super-clean malt profile allows the shipload of juicy tropical fruit flavours to arrive on the desert island of your palate unhindered. And it comes in a can, so after you Krush it, you can Krush it.
After generations of KAIJU! interacting with the local flora, a new species arose. The FRUJUS found the balmy weather and laid-back pace in tropical climes to their liking, settling many remote islands, but always on guard for those who would seek to exploit their mouth-watering juiciness and impeccable balance.
11. Gage Roads Single Fin
More refreshing than a face full of Freo Doctor, we brew this beer with sun-drenched summer days in mind: light-bodied and chock full of aromatic Galaxy and Enigma hops. Big tropical fruit bowl aroma is balanced by subtle bitterness, and a clean finish.
Everyone knows a Larry. Larry is that mate who instantly makes you smile. He's a summer-lovin', party-shirt wearin' kinda fella who gets along with everyone.
We met Larry on a typical, Queensland summers day down at our favourite beach. He was moose-leggin' on the timber guardrail with an esky at his heels and a grin from ear to ear. After giving us a quick update on the dismal surf conditions, he offered us a beer. This was quickly exchanged with a solid F-yeah mate and a handshake. Larry's colorful flair fits plum with his modest, easygoing attitude. He's simply a #larrycan who you'd love to share a beer or eight with.
