2013 a year in craft beer at Beer Cartel

31st Dec 2013

Another year is about to pass at Beer Cartel so we thought we’d take a second to reflect on everything that has happened. It has been a truly exciting time with the number of beers we have in store increasing by 200+ to now be sitting around 650. We’ve been busy building new shelves in the shop and have now welcomed awesome breweries such as Deschutes and Six Point in the US. At the same time we have tried to put almost every beer we’ve ever sold online – meaning online customers now have a fantastic selection to choose from.

On the growler front – we’ve had a number of truly amazing beers from the US, Norway, NZ, Germany and good old Australia – we also installed our counter pressure filler providing growler fills with even better shelf life (carbonation) than ever before.

We held a number of our popular Introduction to Craft Beer sessions in our tasting room – with 150 people in total attending these and hopefully walking away with a bit more knowledge about craft beer. Sydney Craft Beer week was another great event for us – this time we hosted a blended beer session with Bridge Rd Brewers and Moon Dog Brewery – a fantastic chance to try some of their best beers - blended! I am sure all those that attended will well agree it was a great night.

We have also welcomed two new staff; Mike and Jarrod to the team whose love of craft beer rivals our own.

To all our customers, suppliers and staff who have grown with us this year – thanks for all your support and love for craft beer. This is an amazing industry and things are only going to get bigger and bigger going forward. The amount of new breweries and bars that are appearing is great, so too the growing number of people who really do love craft beer and want to share it with their friends and family.

Looking to 2014 we are truly excited about things to come – expect to see our range continuing to grow, some very interesting beers from the US and beyond start to appear on our shelves and our number of growler taps set to expand. Plus we’ll have a few other exciting surprises waiting in the wings!

So thanks again to all of you, goodbye 2013 and come on 2014!
