4 Pines Manly

14th Apr 2010

Last Sunday the weather in Sydney was brilliant, perfect for a trip to Manly to visit the 4 Pines brewery and restaurant! The brewery is well placed for those who have disembarked the ferry from Sydney, situated across the road from the ferry terminal next to the cinema.

The lunch menu was great with quality gourmet burgers, fish and chips cooked in beer batter, as well as salads for those with slightly healthier taste buds. There were four of us in our group and being at a brewery there were some beers to be drunk. The girls chose the Hefeweizen, which with its banana and spice notes appealed to these very occasional beer drinkers.

For Geoff and I the tasting rack had to be tried. The tasting rack was great value at $12.50 with five very well sized samplers provided. This included the Hefeweizen, Kolsch, Pale Ale, Extra Special Bitter and Stout. The Kolsch (as well as making a great beer batter for the fish and chips) went down superbly with its light citrusy flavour.

A highly recommended stop for enjoying beer if you ever find yourself in Manly!
