Day three of our Beer Advent Calendar! Revealing the Black Brewing Bao Bao Milk Stout

3rd Dec 2018

Beer Name: Bao Bao Milk Stout

Brewery: Black Brewing

Location: Margaret River, Western Australia

Style: Stout

ABV: 4.5%

Description:

The only stout in this year's Beer Advent Calendar, we thought we'd do it early in the piece.

Rich chocolate and coffee notes on the palate with the sweetness of lactose gliding over the Tongue. Brewed with chocolate, caramel and dark roast malts Bao Bao is a balanced milk stout with no cloying sweetness, but rather a balance between bitterness from the rich malts and hops, and the smoothness of lactose. Smooth and sessionable.

Bao Bao is Chinese for baby or little treasure.......oh we can assure you this little baby is a treasure!

About the Brewery:

Generous, bold and wild at heart. That’s Black Brewing Co. We make some of Australia’s most uncompromising craft beers from our home, Caves Road Collective, in Wilyabrup, Margaret River.

Our beers tell a refreshing tale of time and place, inspired by the Margaret River region, the Indian Ocean and Western Australia’s incredible produce and people.

The Fresh and Pale Ales, Lager, IPA, Bao Bao, Saison No. 1 and Cider are our “regulars,” but there’s nothing regular about them. We’re talking elegant saisons bittered with local Margaret River herbs, and cider made with 100 per cent West Australian apples. Our one-off, seasonal and large format releases, meanwhile, which include wildly different farmhouse and Belgian ales, walk an even more adventurous path.

But that’s what Black Brewing Co. is all about. We develop and discover new brews all the time, and a sunny day of tastings at our Caves Road Collective restaurant and bar could lead to many places. Dropping a line in at Sugarloaf? Sure. Catching and cooking marron around a bonfire? Even better.

We’re as thirsty for new experiences as we are new flavours and new friends. Just be curious and ready to crack a cold one, and we’ll get along just fine. Here’s cheers.
