Mornington Peninsula Brewery
Feral F-15 Bourbon Barrel Aged Anniversary Ale
Style: IPA - India Pale Ale
Format: 330ml Bottle
Introducing the newest, limited edition, Feral Brewing single batch brew: F-15.
A dogfight 15 years in the making, this anniversary ale celebrates all the Mavericks who helped us over the past 15 years.
Aged for six months in Heaven Hill Distillery bourbon barrels, this F-15 delivers a payload of toasty, malty chocolate flavours and smooth caramel toffee notes. Packed with undertones of vanilla, coconut, oak, dark dried fruit, tobacco and charcoal, it creates a luscious mouth feel.
WHAT OTHER CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING
Bourbon and oak nose. Sweet bourbon and earthy notes. Rich toffee with hints of molasses. Treacle linger. Suits on this cool showery day.
A jet-fuelled straffing
2nd Beer is a little ripper by that great WA brewery Feral, their F-15, (15 year anniversary special) full of dark colour, a real bourbon smell - it is aged for 6 months in Bourbon barrels, has tastes of dried fruit (no really it does), caramel, I also get hints of oak and charcoal (only slight, again maybe influenced by the label)
At a whacking 9%, not a beer to take lightly. But definitely one to enjoy
Get it in ya!
Please note the ABV is 9% not the listed 4.5%.
I purchased a carton of this, and it is so great I'll get another. Barrel aged ales are my favorite genre, and this is an incredible example of one, with woody aroma and overtone, and a touch of the whiskey. It is also fantastic value for a barrel aged ale.
Kudos to Feral for this masterpiece.
Big rich mouthy beer. Definitely a sipper.
