In autumn we managed to get our hands on some ripe blackberries and bright red rhubarb from our friends at Rayners orchards. After blanching the rhubarb we moved the fruit into barrels and racked on a golden sour beer that had been aging in our cellar for 9 months. Chosen for its deep funky notes, soft acidity and oaky/vanilla aromas, this sour beer was then allowed to referment on the fruit for 8 weeks. This beer took a little longer to condition than our other fruited sour beers but after tasting it every 2 weeks for the past 16 weeks its finally ready for release and we couldn't be more excited to share it. Earthy, savory and tart, pouring a bright reddish/pink and aromatically reminds us of blackberry and rhubarb crumble enjoyed as a kid.
