HopDog C Bomb Double IPA
Style: Double IPA / DIPA / Imperial IPA
Format: 330ml Bottle
The latest release from our favourite NSW nano brewery. This beer is a double IPA and certainly doesn't hold back. At 150 IBU (international bitterness units) it is a certainly not for the faint hearted.
A quality beer when done right - we do note the issues below that customers have had with carbonation. Both were given credits to make up for the stock they received.
WHAT OTHER CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING
I've had bad luck from HopDog and this again was no exception
unfortunately this was as flat as a tack. Tasted quite nice but with no carbonation it was very disappointing. This is the 2nd beer I have had from HopDog that has had no carbonation, wasn't just one bottle of the C bomb but all 4.
Overripe orange nose. Syrupy thick, intense blood orange & bitter resinous pine flavours. Hop burning bitter linger that makes you want more.
I recently purchased 4 bottles of the HopDog C-Bomb Double IPA @$18 per bottle from the Beer Cartel in Sydney. These were delivered 10 days ago and this was shared with two of my mates (bottle each) We each had the same experience when poured it was flat as a tack and no head at all and tasted not right. We all could not consume the product and effectively tipped it down the sink. As connoisseurs of IPA’s and Double IPA’s the experience was a highly unpleasant one. I had seen positive reviews of your other products but clearly this was a bad batch or an issue with your quality control
What Imperial Winston is to Winston for the BrewBoys Hoppapotamus
For those outside of SA who haven't had the pleasure of a Hoppapotaums, this beer is like a higher ABV version in an easy-to-drink package size. Masses of hops and malt combined to create a great Aussie beer. If you could pin Australian beers to a style, I think we should aim for something like this. We need more beers like this around.
American style DIPA, hops hit you from the start. Pours reasonably flat but that does not take away from one and citrus aroma. Malt backbone suitable for style but this is one for hop lovers like me! Recommended.
It was okay, might have gotten a bad bottle
"A lot of bitterness, unlike the usual bitter notes of an IPA, it went much further where it had a strong distinct Buttery, Diacetyl taste.
Worth a try, you might enjoy it more than I did."
