The Little Brewing Company
Little Brewing Company Mad Abbot Christmas Ale 2016
Brewery: The Little Brewing Co
Format: 330ml Bottle
For the 2016 Mad Abbot Christmas Ale we changed up the malt bill by adding rye malt, which gives an added silky smooth character. The result is an ultra smooth, strong dark ale exhibiting complex characters of spice, rum, raisin, dark cherry, dark plum, leather and vanilla bean.
It will reward with careful cellaring up to 5+ years after date of bottling.

WHAT OTHER CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING
This is an example of a brewery making a Boo Boo and recovering the investment through strategy.
To my experience the beer is under-attenuated, much too sweet and cloying.
I would be prepared to bet that in 2016 it exhibited strong fusel flavours.
The decision to store for 3 years and release as Christmas Ale is inspired, however it is not a patch on a well made strong Belgian and exhibits a number of shortcomings in the mash and ferment stages.
However, well recovered guys!
My favourite Belgian tripel... until I found out it was Aussie... now it’s my favourite tripel.
