  classic barrel aged strong ale

  Dark copper colour and creamy head. All the expected flavours, alcohol, vanilla, chocolate, honey, and rich fruit cake. Barrel ageing smoke and whiskey is at the forefront of the flavours, thankfully, as it is hard to detect in a lot of these ales. This may have been ground breaking 20 years ago but it has been done quite a few times now, but this is a great example of this now common breed and is still enjoyable.
