Red Duck Hoppy Amber
Brewery: Purrumbete Brewing P/L, Red Duck Brewery
Style: Amber Ale
Format: 330ml Bottle
Hoppy Amber by name, nature and style. You could call this an American style amber ale, or a hoppy ESB, but lets keep it simple. We increased the malt bill from our regular amber a little and then used our triple hopping process. Lots of noble hops for the bittering base, Cascade and Centennial, and lots more for aroma hops, and then we warm infused the fresh wort through Galaxy hop flowers.
This “triple hopped” ale is another tribute to some of the amazing brews coming out of US craft breweries. Of course an American ale yeast was used, which has a really gentle, smooth fermentation, and slightly drier finish than our regular British ale yeasts we use for other ales.
Fresh hop aromas lift readily, slightly bitter at the start and with a moderately bitter finish. We calculate this ale has around 38 IBUs, which is just about perfect for this style of beer. Hop heads will love it, and will probably even consider this a session beer.
