First brewed 1996; claimed to be based on a recipe from 1679 which used wheat, oat and barley.
Tripel Karmeliet is a very refined and complex golden-to-bronze brew with a fantastic creamy head. These characteristics derive not only from the grains used but also from restrained hopping with Styrians and the fruity nature (banana and vanilla) of the house yeast. Aroma has hints of vanilla mixed with citrus aromas. Tripel Karmeliet has not only the lightness and freshness of wheat, but also the creaminess of oats together with a spicy lemony almost quinine dryness.

One of the best Belgium Beers in my opinion, full of flavour!

Best of the Belgium beers
This is an award winning and popular beer for a reason. Best enjoyed in a tulip glass, swirled to give it a good head and to release magnificent banana and vanilla aromas.

Nectar of the Gods
That’s what my husband says and he’s ordered another carton. Please try to make it always available.

Beer number 6 is a Blonde from Belgium - Tripel Karmeliet brewed by Brouwerij Bosteels in Buggenhout, a lovely Golden colour. If it’s from Belgium you know it’ll be strong. This one is a modest 8.4%. Uses 3 grains and final fermentation is in the bottle. A citrusy, Oaty type smell, a fruity, Malty taste. A really nice beer

Awesome beer
I would put this in my top five favourite beers of all time

Wonderfully smooth
The Karmeliet Tripel pours a cloudy golden hue with a sustained creamy head. The combination of wheat, oat and barley grains produce wonderfully smooth and fruity ale. Unfortunately priced like many craft beers from Belgium, more reserved for special occasions.

For a great taste serve frosty
This beer really tastes awesome when served frosty especially when ice starts to form inside.
