Brouwerij Kees was established in 2015 following a successful cowdfunding campaign by Kees Bubberman, the former head brewer of Emelisse, who sought to achieve his dream of owning his own brewery. While brewmaster at Emelisse his beers helped Emelisse become named in Ratebeer's 'Top 100 Breweries in the World 2014'.
