In the Middle Ages, regular beer brewers were far more heavily taxed than abbeys. Therefore, the Grimbergen Fathers used refined raw materials of a higher quality. Combining exclusive ingredients with their brewing expertise, they created Grimbergen Double-Ambr

Nice little trip to France.
I had a quite a few Grimbergens on a trip to France some years ago.. It is available in many restaurants on tap and is a sort of a regular beer there.
This little number is quite nice with lots of Amber and not so hoppy.( ps I hate the high hopped beers these days as it seems to be a race to see how much hops a brewers can fit into a bottle ) Anyways a lovely drop with lots fruit and subtle sweetness. I knocked back two straight up . Might just hold the third till tomorrow...I will be back for more..

Interesting Double-Amber 6.5%
An interesting Brown Ale, with deep and unique flavours and an extra warm 6.5% alcohol. It's not as roasted as a Porter or Stout, and there's no Hop bitterness, but some interesting caramel and phenol back notes, not too bad as one to try.
