Inquest 2020 edition 4. This year's inquest is inspired by some of the first strong dark ales many of us tried, long before craft beer became popular. Although we still declare it an Imperial Stout, we've taken a leaf out of the Trappist book by using some of the same ingredients made popular by Belgian monks. We've chosen barley that's been malted in a specific way to produce honey, dark fruit and molasses like notes then fermented this with Belgian origin yeast strain, which adds layers of fruit and spice to this malty foundation. English grown hops finish this off with an assertive earthy bitterness that balances out the sweet malt and brandy -like alcohol warmth.
