This top-fermented dark beer is brewed with roasted malts. The secondary fermentation in the bottle gives it its powerful and pleasant character. The nose is quite complex, powerful and full-bodied with earthy notes of old wood. First aromas are powerful (alcohol), spicy (wood) yet always well balanced, leading up to a pleasantly caramelised finish. The round mouthfeel and roasted malty flavour reinforce the aromas of coffee and toffee (molasses and caramelised butter). Its dark colour and warm strength make Waterloo Double Dark a delicious beer!
